Cabinet Refinishing

IN-SHOP WORK

  • Remove all cabinet faces and hardware to take to shop
  • All cabinet/drawer faces will be cleaned, degreased, and deglazed
  • All cabinet faces drawers will be sanded down and cleaned again
  • Possible spackling/Bondo work to correct any imperfections
  • Possible hole filling and sanding to accommodate new hardware
  • Possible grain filling and sanding on oak cabinets depending on customer preferences
  • One to two primer coats of top-quality primer will be applied and sanded back
  • Two to three topcoats of top-quality millwork grade paint (several options available depending on substrate and customer preferences) will be applied with sanding and cleaning between coats

IN-HOME WORK

  • Kitchen or other area being painted will be cordoned off using zip walls to separate work area from non-work area
  • Use of air movers, dust extractors on sanders, and air scrubbers for dust mitigation
  • Cabinet boxes and entire area will be masked off with a combination tape, paper, and plastic sheeting to protect all surfaces not being painted 
  • Cabinet boxes will be cleaned, degreased, and deglazed
  • Possible spackling/Bondo work to correct any imperfections
  • All surfaces getting painted will be sanded and cleaned again
  • One to two primer coats of top-quality primer will be applied and sanded back
  • Two to three topcoats of top-quality millwork grade paint (several options available depending on substrate and customer preferences) will be applied with sanding and cleaning between coats
  • All masking gets removed
  • Cabinet faces and hardware will be re-installed
